CHICAGO – Inbound and outbound Metra UPNW trains are stopped near Norwood Park after a train struck a vehicle, killing one person.
Metra officials said UPNW train #717 was scheduled to arrived at Harvard at 5:20 p.m., but hit a vehicle in Norwood Park at around 4:20 p.m. near Nagle and Northwest Highway.
Officials confirmed to WGN News that one person in the vehicle died as a result of the crash.
The duration of the delays are unknown at this time, but Metra said “extensive delays are anticipated.”
No other information was released.
